PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
A multidisciplinary journey
Matteo Caprani is a Swiss entrepreneur and the Founder & Managing Director of ExaMedix Technologies, an independent company focused on applied artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and innovative software development.
His professional journey began in 2003 in the international luxury furniture industry, working with a distinguished clientele. In 2004, he established Italian Design & Luxury Furniture (IDLF Export), gaining firsthand experience in entrepreneurship, international business development, supplier relationships and production management.
He later pursued a career in engineering, taking on technical and management responsibilities before moving into Project Management and Technical Sales Management.
Working across different industries gave him a broad understanding of how businesses operate, combining technical expertise, commercial awareness and the ability to bring complex projects from concept to execution.
A PERSONAL TURNING POINT
A life-changing decision
While building his career in business and engineering, two personal experiences profoundly changed Matteo's perspective.
His mother suffered a heart attack followed by cardiac arrest, from which she fortunately survived. Not long afterwards, he witnessed a road traffic accident and stopped to call for emergency assistance.
Despite years of experience managing complex professional situations, he found himself unable to fully understand the medical emergencies unfolding before him, or what he could do to help.
That realization sparked a determination to acquire the knowledge he lacked.
At the same time, another question had been growing in his mind. Although his professional career was both successful and rewarding, he increasingly felt the need to contribute to something with a more immediate and meaningful impact on people's lives.
What began as an interest in volunteering with an ambulance service led him to discover the professional qualification required to become a paramedic.
With two children and a family to support, committing to three years of full-time education was far from a simple decision. It required careful personal and financial planning. Nevertheless, convinced of the importance of this new direction, he chose to pursue it.
Since 2020, Matteo has worked as a Paramedic at Croce Verde Lugano, providing prehospital emergency care in situations where clinical knowledge, sound judgment and decisive action can make a critical difference.
Emergency medicine has since become an essential part of both his personal and professional identity. What began as a desire to understand and help others evolved into a vocation that has deepened his appreciation of knowledge, human responsibility and the real-world consequences of decisions.
